Our Story

About Us

Nature is a life inspiration

Green Relief Initiative (GRI) is a community-based organization in Rhino Camp, Arua District, tackling hunger, poverty, and global warming. GRI combats massive deforestation caused by refugee influx by planting fruit and non-fruit trees for food, energy, and afforestation. It also promotes food security through vegetable farming, benefiting both refugees and host communities.

Our vision

A community without hunger. We want a community in which dry and barren land is turned into fruitful forests with every human being enjoying nutritional and economic wellbeing, together with ecological sustenance.

Our Mission

To help create lasting solutions to hunger and ecological problems. By building local capacities of refugees and nationals to attain sustainable livelihoods through community participation, partnership and advocacy.
